Summary: The Patient Safety and Speak UP Education Forum has
three components:
1. Information about the Sebastian Ferrero
Foundation, its efforts to bring a children’s hospital to Gainesville
and the benefits of a children’s hospital.
2. Facts and Figures about medical errors, and
3. The Speak Up program empowering
participants to become active partners in their healthcare experience.
Purpose: To empower healthcare
consumers to take an active and vocal role in their healthcare
experience.
Target Audience: Parents, Adults, Families, Schools, Clubs,
Religious Organizations, and just about anyone who ever sees a doctor
Presenters: Sebastian Ferrero Foundation staff and/or Board of
Directors, pediatricians, and parents.
Time: 20-40 minutes for the formal presentation and then Q&A
